It was about time I started to eat my own dog food, so I have completed the migration from Wordpress to ContentBox today and with that a new inspiration to write more.  So expect a lot more content coming your way now that I have ContentBox up and running.  Also, thanks to this migration we have updated the Wordpress importer of ContentBox and it will be available by next week.

Leaving ESRI: Dawn of a new age!

I just wanted to take the moment to mention that starting today I am embarking on a 6 month personal leave of absence from ESRI to stay home and take care of our newborn Alexia and be able to concentrate on writing, training, professional open source and hopefully consulting.  It has been a great 4.5 years at ESRI and hopefully my time there is not done there entirely.  I had the privilege of working with some great minds and friends that I will truly miss bothering on a daily basis.  Thank you guys for so much support, understanding and love that you have provided to me and my family as we try to figure out where the Lord guides us in this journey of ours.

With that said, I am giving a sneek peek of what is to come as now I will be able to finish 4 books that are in the works and several new products I am working on that hopefully will place ColdFusion back on the map: BlogBox, PageBox, CodexWiki, ForumMan, ColdBox Messaging, Ortus DataBoss, ColdBox Remote and much more.  It is now time for ColdBox and ColdFusion to shine with great community applications based on a platform that is dear to my heart.  So for now, thanks again and Adios Amigos!

alexiaI am so excited to present to you my baby girl, Alexia Maria Majano!  She was born November 27, 2010 at 12:24pm weighing at 8 lbs and measuring 19 inches long.  She is a big girl and she is adorable.  Both mom and baby are doing great!  What an experience to be right there in the delivery room and experience birth.  Truly God is an amazing God and all praise goes to him, what an amazing experience.

I find myself I cannot stop smiling or being nice to people today Smile

I did an interview for CFConversations back in October and it is now released.  Please check it out by visiting the cfconversations website.

It was a true pleasure to talk to Brian Meloche and Adam Haskell.  I had a great time talking to those guys. We talked from everything about El Salvador, Salvadorean food, the Salvadorean Civil War, coming to the US, the roots of ColdBox and the future of ColdBox.

So if you have time, please check it out and don't forget about ColdBox Training is now available for March 14-15th in Ontario, CA.

This is just a note that I am out for a well deserved vacation to Paris and then off to Turkey. ColdBox will be on my mind, but hopefully for not very long (the wife might beat me up). We will be doing an entire tour of Turkey and visit its majestic locations! We are incredible excited to be able to go and learn about Turkey.

Paris is just a stop over, so we will only have two days to drink the wine, eat the croissants and visit the sites. Ahh paris!!

Anyways, please don't bother me, no development for 2 weeks, wohoo!!

Thanks!!

Canon is truly AWESOME!!

Canon is truly awesome. I bought a Canon Elph SD 100 back in december of 2003 and it has been a truly great camera. This year for some reason the lens gave out and I was truly dissapointed. I was not looking forward to chuggin another $450 for a new camera, since this one did what I need it. So I decided to write to Canon to see if they had any kind of repairs for this type of camera. In a matter of 3 days I had a paid return shipment on my door. I placed the camera and off it went to those nice Canon factories. In two weeks, I received a package with my camera fixed, FREE OF CHARGE!! For being a loyal Canon customer. MAN!! Is this customer service or what. Well, if not I would not even be writing this entry. So there you go, I think Canon is awesome, I am a true loyal customer now.

Bye Bye Miami!! Welcome home ESRI, California

I just landed today in Redlands California. My new home!! I will be starting my new employment at ESRI the following week and my new adventures have just started. I landed in the afternoon and headed for my new apartments to check them out. Once I got there, man, what a dump!! It is really hard to decide on a place by just looking at pictures. I decided to get the *&(&# out of there. Panic soon ensued, my van line from Florida is arriving in three days and I have no home. I soon turned out to three locations and found a decent place. Tomorrow I go apartment scouting and hopefully find a suitable location by tomorrow.

A part from that, the area is very nice, the weather is completely amazing in comparison to Miami's hot and humid nastiness. The temperature right now is about 51 degrees and it is awesome. I can finally wear sweaters and cold weather clothes.

Anyways, just a quick post to say goodbye to 12 years of living in Miami and welcoming a new era at ESRI in Redlands, CA. I believe good things are about to happen, I am excited and can't wait to start developing!!!

Bye Bye Miami!!!

Welcome Home Redlands!!
